When your vehicle is delivered from the manufacturer, it comes with a standard ‘manufacturer tune’, to ensure the highest level of engine reliability across the worldwide market, whilst taking into account factors such as the quality of fuel which is likely to be available, different servicing schedules, different operating environments (such as terrain and altitude), and local legislation relating to power output, emissions, etc.

Software based modification

In almost all cases a performance tune does not involve any physical modification, it simply involves a change of software, and so in the unlikely event of the tune needing to be removed, the process can be reversed without any side-effects.
